We're ten! It may not sound like much, but in the past ten years Virgin Trains has accomplished a lot.
We knew we'd have difficult times after acquiring the West Coast and CrossCountry franchises - ageing trains, infrequent services and long journey times were just three of the challenges we faced - but we were determined to succeed. And in the ten years since our launch we've not only overcome these obstacles, but improved customer satisfaction to 90% on Virgin West Coast.* And if that's not reason enough to celebrate, we don't know what is!

You can be sure the future of Virgin Trains holds more trains, extra carriages and ever faster services.
We will be running trains every 20 minutes between Manchester and London and Birmingham and London, aiming to increase West Coast Main Line train speeds to 135mph, and trying for sub-four hour journeys between Glasgow and London. In addition, our passengers will see wireless internet access, and improved mobile reception onboard. It's a lot of work ahead, but that means even more to celebrate on our birthdays to come!
